Hand Carved Lettering 

Lettering, whether carved, blasted or applied is an ‘art form’ unto itself when used on Walls, Floors, and Exteriors.   It is particularly striking when it is carved onto or into stone surfaces.  You will want an expert on your team to illuminate these issues to your client.  EM-AS (Eastern Memorials Architectural Services) has been doing these types of lettering jobs for years for many of the top designers, architects, builders, and stone contractors in the Washington-Metro area as well as for companies in other states.

We specialize in the Old World Craft of Hand-Carved Lettering.  This includes but is not limited to:  Creating and working typefaces of all kinds, gilding in all the known precious metals, and also performing high-quality sandblasted lettering.  Our 20+ years of experience in carving, blasting and applying letters has allowed us to refine our skills to the museum quality level. 

Applied Lettering

Applied Lettering is one of the most widely used techniques in the industry.  Many clients are demanding the utmost in quality to include but not be limited to:  Solid Stainless Steel, Solid Bronze, Prismatic, and Specialty Shapes and 3-D Logos, etc.  These are the applied letter jobs that EM-AS excels at. 

Emblems, Logos and Carvings

Emblems and Logos are usually incorporated into all of the projects we do, with few exceptions.  Whether they are municipal, trade, organizational, etc., they are very important to clients.  We realize that these elements of the job can be the final touch that makes your company shine.  EM-AS has carved, blasted, etched, forged, etc. thousands of emblems, logos, patches, etc. which has allowed us to become experts in this field.  We have one goal in mind when performing these projects:  Stay true to the original design and  use the best techniques available for that particular job. 

Specialty Techniques

One must work with stone for many years with the intention of learning in order to develop better methods for future use.  To take the learning further, one must seek, test and then perfect new methods.  EM-AS has been doing this for the life of our company.  Not only have we found other innovators that have developed into new products that we use, but we have developed our own Specialty Techniques — all of which include but are not limited to:  Photo Blasting, Superfine Detail Blasting, Zero Tolerance Metal Inlays, ‘metalizing’ virtually any material. EM-AS is a Class-A Contractor and is able to design and build free-standing signs from the ground up.
